Bartlit Beck Wins Patent Case For Amazon

12.2014

Abby Mollen and Mark Ouweleen won a judgment of invalidity in a patent case brought against Amazon in the District of Delaware. The plaintiff, Cloud Satchel, had asserted its patents against Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Sony and others. Amazon prevailed on its early motion for summary judgment and prior to claim construction, with Abby Mollen arguing that the Cloud Satchel inventions were directed to unpatentable subject matter.
