Bartlit Beck occupies the 3rd and 4th floors of the historic Courthouse Place building at 54 West Hubbard Street, also known as Clarence Darrow Drive. In the mid 19th century the site was occupied by North Market Hall, a popular public market and meeting house. After its destruction in the Chicago Fire of 1871, the site was acquired by Cook County for the construction of a new Criminal Courts Building. Among the famous trials that took place here was Clarence Darrow's defense of Leopold and Loeb. Click for a map of the area around our Chicago office. |
