National counsel for Light & Wonder, Inc., and its subsidiary SciPlay, in cases alleging SciPlay’s online social-casino games count as illegal gambling under various states’ laws. Responsible for coordinating and litigating all aspects of SciPlay’s defense to cases pending in state courts, federal courts, and arbitrations across the country.
Opioids Litigation
National and trial counsel for Walgreens in nationwide litigation involving the distribution and sale of prescription opioid medications, including more than 2,500 cases brought by states, cities, counties, tribes, and private parties seeking recovery in connection with the opioid abuse crisis.
- Trial counsel in case brought by the Michigan Attorney General seeking over $20 billion. Case favorably settled on the eve of trial.
- Counsel in pending bellwether cases brought by third-party payers.
Circle Internet Financial Limited
Counsel for Circle in breach-of-contract action brought by former financial advisor. Case pending.
In re Google Play Store Antitrust Litigation
Appellate counsel for consumer class who used the Google Play Store to buy apps or Google Play Billing to buy in-app digital content on Android devices. Defended class certification in Rule 23(f) appeal. Settled for $700 million and significant injunctive relief. Settlement approval pending.
