Bartlit Beck Secures $229 Million Verdict for Viasat in Kioxia Patent Trial
07.17.2026
A jury in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas has awarded Viasat $229 million in its patent infringement case against Kioxia Corporation. The jury found that Kioxia's NAND flash memory products infringe Viasat's patented forward error correction technology, rejecting Kioxia's non-infringement defenses. A related case against SanDisk over the same patent remains pending in the same court.
Bartlit Beck's trial team included J. Scott McBride, Nosson Knobloch, Matthew Ford, Meg Fasulo, Nevin Gewertz, and Mac LeBuhn.
