Bartlit Beck’s HP v. Oracle team received the “Innovation in Collaboration” award from the Financial Times, in its “North America Innovative Lawyers 2016” report ranking the most innovative law firms, legal teams and individuals.

The Bartlit Beck team, led by partner Mark Ferguson and in collaboration HP’s in-house legal team, Choate, Hall & Stewart, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Seyfarth Shaw, secured a victory worth over $3 billion in contract litigation against Oracle’s earlier this year.

Calling it a “unique collaboration” and an “unusual alliance,” FT recognized the HP legal team with one of three “standout” awards, awarding the team a “total innovation score” of 28 out of 30 points, the highest ranking in its category. The case team from Bartlit Beck included partners Mark Ferguson, Mike Valaik and Katharine Roin.
