Faye Paul litigates a wide range of high-stakes matters for clients in the life sciences, healthcare, aerospace, and higher education sectors. Her practice focuses primarily on commercial and intellectual property disputes, including breach of contract and patent infringement matters.
Faye has represented clients in federal courts and before arbitration panels throughout the country and has tried cases before judges, juries, and arbitrators.
Faye also regularly serves as appointed counsel in the Northern District of Illinois for pro se inmates litigating Section 1983 claims.
Faye is a graduate of The University of Chicago Law School (JD, Honors), where she was the 2010-2011 Hinton Moot Court champion, and the University of Southern California (BA, magna cum laude), where she competed on the mock trial team. Before joining Bartlit Beck, Faye clerked for the Honorable Thomas Ambro on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Honorable Edmond Chang on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Network-1 v. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (E.D. Tex. 2017)
Counsel for HPE in a week-long patent jury trial involving Power over Ethernet technology. The case resulted in a defense verdict, in which all asserted claims of the patent were found not to be infringed, and were also found to be invalid. Following post-trial motions, the district court upheld the non-infringement verdict but vacated the verdict of invalidity. An appeal is pending. For more information, see the Law360 article.
Endo Pharmaceutical Solutions Inc. v. Paddock Laboratories LLC (D. Del. 2016)
Trial counsel for Bayer and its exclusive licensee Endo in ANDA litigation relating to Endo's Aveed® testosterone undecanoate injection. Complete trial and appellate victory for Endo and Bayer.

Counsel for the The University of Chicago in dispute arising from $100 million grant agreement.
Regents of the University of Minnesota v. Gilead Sciences (N.D. Cal.)

Trial counsel for UnitedHealthcare's affiliate, Sierra, in an arbitration initiated by HCA Healthcare's affiliate, Sunrise, alleging underpayments for medical services. Case resolved on confidential terms.
Meritor, Inc. v. Sistemas Automotrices de Mexico (N.D. Ill.)
Counsel for Meritor in breach of contract action against joint venture partner and joint venture in Mexico. Case settled following summary judgment.

Rose v. Duffield (N.D. Ill.)
Pro bono counsel for a former inmate in a Section 1983 suit against doctors and officials with the Illinois Department of Corrections for improper medical treatment that caused Mr. Rose to lose his vision. Case settled favorably after fact discovery.
Perkins v. Williams (N.D. Ill.)
Pro bono counsel for an inmate alleging unconstitutional conditions of confinement at Stateville Northern Reception and Classification Center. Case settled favorably shortly before trial.
