Bartlit Beck Secures Appellate Court Victory for Viasat

12.23.2025

Bartlit Beck has secured a significant victory for Viasat, Inc. at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The court’s ruling confirms the validity of Viasat’s patent for advanced error correction technology used in flash memory.

The decision marks the conclusion of a challenge brought by Kioxia, which had sought to invalidate Viasat’s claims through an inter partes review. By affirming the Patent Office’s earlier decision, the Federal Circuit has cleared the path for Viasat to continue its enforcement of these key intellectual property rights.

Meg Fasulo argued the case before the Federal Circuit. The team also included Matthew Ford, Nevin Gewertz, J. Scott McBride, and Nosson Knobloch.
