Elena V. Cox

Elena joined Bartlit Beck following clerkships with the Honorable Paul V. Niemeyer on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Honorable Rebecca R. Pallmeyer on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to her clerkships, she was a Bartlit Beck Fellow. Elena earned her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and her undergraduate degree from Stanford University.

X and xAI v. Apple and OpenAI (Federal District Court, Northern District of Texas)
Trial counsel for plaintiffs in antitrust case arising from agreement between Apple and OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into the iPhone operating system. Trial scheduled for January 2027.

Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Cases
National counsel for DuPont on claims that its 2015 spin-off of The Chemours Company was a fraudulent transfer. Handling those claims in the aqueous film-forming foam multidistrict litigation in the District of South Carolina as well as cases in Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and Vermont.
