Amy (Gore) McCalib has worked on high-stakes complex commercial cases including nationwide class actions, MDLs, and multistate litigation. She has represented clients in a variety of disputes including trade secret, patent, product liability, and consumer fraud actions.

Amy joined Bartlit Beck after two years as a litigation associate at Latham & Watkins. While at Latham, Amy’s experience included representing:

  • A client in multidistrict class action litigation alleging false marketing and consumer protection claims related to the advertising of its products
  • A client in multidistrict class action litigation alleging false marketing and consumer protection claims related to the advertising of its products
  • A wood products company in several class action and individual lawsuits alleging product liability, warranty, and consumer fraud claims related to one of its building products

  • A client in multidistrict class action litigation alleging negligence related to thousands of personal injury claims nationwide

  • An automotive loss valuation client in nationwide class action litigation alleging consumer fraud claims related to total loss valuation for insurance claims
  • A client in trade secret misappropriation litigation arising from its hiring of two former employees from one of its competitors

  • A nationwide hospital system and healthcare management company in connection with a series of internal investigations of individual and corporate compliance with policies and federal regulations

  • A medical device sales representative in a DOJ healthcare fraud investigation regarding alleged violations of the FCA and the AKS

  • A public company in a SEC investigation relating to earnings reports

Amy graduated from the University of Michigan Law School where, as President of LAW Breaks, she coordinated legal volunteer opportunities for over 50 law students – helping to earn LAW Breaks the law school’s Outstanding Pro Bono Project Award. She maintains a robust pro bono practice, having assisted clients in habeas corpus, asylum application proceedings, and criminal appeals. 

Representative Matters

Align v. 3Shape (D. Del. and W.D. TX)
Represented Align in lawsuits brought by Align against 3Shape and vice versa for alleged infringement of different patents related to 3D dental imaging technology. The parties entered a global settlement in early 2022.

Viking Technologies LLC v. Asurion LLC (E.D. Tex.)
Trial counsel for Asurion in patent infringement litigation involving mobile device display repair technology. Case settled on the eve of trial.

Confidential AAA Arbitration
Represented defendant in a confidential AAA commercial arbitration. Case settled.
