Second Circuit Rules in favor of Bartlit Beck Client Sabre Holdings Corp. in Antitrust Case

09.17.2019

In 2016, after a ten-week trial, a federal jury returned a verdict in favor of Bartlit Beck client Sabre Holdings Corp. in a federal antitrust case brought by U.S. Airways (now American Airlines) on one count and limited damages on the second count to 1% of the amount U.S. Airways sought. The court also denied U.S. Airways’ request for injunctive and declaratory relief. On September 11, 2019, the Second Circuit vacated the jury’s liability finding, affirmed the trial court’s limitation on damages, and remanded the case for a new trial. Bartlit Beck lawyers Chris Lind, Karma Giulianelli, Andrew MacNally, Rob Addy, and Joseph Doman tried the case and represented Sabre in the appeal together with lawyers from Cravath, Swaine and Moore.
